Individuals must have their Queen entries in the hands of the committee NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY JUNE 3 Contact needs to be made for extenuating circumstances.

A photo, 2 ½ x 3 ½ (Photographer’s studio picture or school picture) MUST be included with the entry. It will be used for publicity purposes. If this is not included, your picture will not be included in the publicity.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CONTEST WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO A MAXIMUM OF 25 CONTESTANTS, BASED ON THE ORDER TO WHICH THE APPLICATION WERE RECEIVED.
RULES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Each contestant must be at least 16 years of age and cannot have had her 21st birthday as of August 16, the first day of the 2009 Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant.
2.
A contestant must be an Indiana resident, a U.S. citizen, and represent her home county. One of her parents or legal guardians must also be an Indiana resident. The only exceptions: She may reside in an adjoining Indiana county if the majority of her activities are in the county in which she enters the contest. Should a fair represent more than one county, the winning contestant must reside in one of the participating counties.
3.
Each contestant must be an active member of at least one worthwhile organization in her community, such as church groups, Girl Scouts, 4-H etc. Eligibility is not limited to 4-H members.
4.
No professional model is eligible in a State Fair Pageant. (A professional model is one who earns her livelihood by modeling) A contestant who has had training or schooling in the modeling field, has been paid on occasion for modeling or works for a fashion board is not considered a professional model.
5.
Any contestant who has competed in a State Fair Queen Pageant cannot compete again.
6.
If the 2009 Dearborn County 4-H Queen cannot perform her duties as will be outlined, the first Runner-up will become Queen. The line of succession will then continue if the first Runner-up is unable to fulfill the responsibilities.
7.
Queen contestants will be judged on the basis of ability to converse, poise and personality in three divisions:
a.
Evening Gown – Attire: Long/Floor length evening gown
b.
Interview – Attire: Dress or Suit
c.
Professional wear – Attire: Suit, pant suit or dress
8.
The 2009 Dearborn County 4-H Fair Queen and Court are expected to be present and assist throughout the fair. (Volunteer at least 5 hours)
9.
The 2009 4-H Fair Contestants are required to ride on two Queen’s float during the 2009 year. Exceptions must be brought to the Queen’s Committee for approval.
